Welcome to all who are visiting with us today. Please plan to be with us again soon. If you are in need of any of the services of the Church, please speak to one of the clergy after the service.
For services of the church you may speak with the following clergy: All who have questions or wish to learn more about the Orthodox Faith should also speak with Father John Hanson. Any who wish to schedule baptisms or weddings should speak with Father Steven Ritter. If you wish to ask about membership in the church, or if you wish to donate an item to the church, please speak with Father Deacon Zachary Rose. If you wish to schedule a Memorial Service for the departed, a Moleben for a special need, or a House Blessing, please speak with either Father John Townsend or Father Steven Ritter.
This week we will celebrate the great feast of the Protection of the Mother of God with vigil tomorrow night, October 13th, at 7:00 PM, and Divine Liturgy beginning with the hours at 9:40 AM on Tuesday, October 14th. On Wednesday, October 15th, we commemorate the Holy Martyrs Cyprian and Justina. There will be no Divine Liturgy on Saturday, October 17th.
Bible Study will be held on Wednesday, October 15th, at 7:00 PM, preceded by Compline and Evening Prayers at 6:00 PM.
The iconostas will be restained on Thursday, October 16th, beginning at 10:00 AM. If you have skill in staining wood, please plan to come and help.
Father John will be visiting the parish of the Holy Apostles in Beltsville, Maryland, the weekend of October 17th-19th. Father Steven will be here to serve the Divine Services and to attend to any emergency.
Haiti has been hard hit by recent storms, and many of our Orthodox brethren are in need. Metropolitan Hilarion has asked that a special collection be made in the parishes. Today and the next two Sundays we will be collecting for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Please be generous.
The Patronal Feast of Our Lady Joy of All Who Sorrow in Cumming will be celebrated with vigil on Saturday, November 1st, at 5:00 PM, and Divine Liturgy beginning with hours at 9:40 AM on Sunday, November 2nd. Bishop Gabriel will preside. All are invited and encouraged to attend. Services will be held as usual at our church.
All are asked to be completely silent in the church during the Divine Services. There should be no talking whatsoever during this time. Every word of the divine services is for our salvation and necessary for us to hear and take into our hearts.
