Welcome to all who are worshipping with us today. We hope that all of you will be back here with us again soon. You are most welcome to become a member of our congregation.
For services of the church you may speak with the following clergy: All who have questions or wish to learn more about the Orthodox Faith should speak with Father John Hanson. All who wish advanced education in the Orthodox Faith should speak with Father Steven Ritter. If you wish to ask about membership in the church or if you wish to donate an item to the church, please speak with Father John Hanson. Any who wish to schedule baptisms, weddings, memorial services for the departed, house blessings, or molebens for special needs should speak with Father Alexander Lisnichuk. If you need to speak in Russian to one of the clergy, speak to Father Alexander Lisnichuk.
This is the the thirty-fourth week of Pentecost. Today (February 5th) after coffee hour we will serve the vigil for Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg. Tomorrow we will celebrate the Divine Liturgy beginning with Hours at 9:40 AM. On Friday, February 10th, we will serve the Vespers/Matins/First Hour commemorating St. Ignatius the God-bearer, and on Saturday, February 11th, we will celebrate the Divine Liturgy beginning with Hours at 9:40 AM.
The blessing of homes has begun. You may invite one of the priests to come to your home to bless it. If so, please prepare carefully for this blessing by cleaning the house and putting it in order. A table should be prepared oriented to the east with a clean cloth, an icon with a candle before it, and a bowl of Holy Water. Televisions should be turned off. The whole household should be dressed for church and present for the blessing.
You are invited to join Father John on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, June 12th-23rd. It will also include visits to Constantinople and St. Katherine’s Monastery at Mt. Sinai. The cost of the pilgrimage is $3200 per person from New York. The deadline for registering is March 4th, at which time the entire payment is due. Please consider this opportunity which is most profitable for the soul. Registration forms are available in the outer narthex.
The fund for renovating our heating and air conditioning system now has over $14,000. This brings us almost half-way to our goal. Please consider a contribution to this work which is essential to the life of our church.
The Sisterhood of Ss Mary and Martha, to which all the women of our church belong, will meet today during the coffee hour. Please allow them the whole eastern half of the coffee hour area (toward the street) for their meeting.
